Tagèle P.’s Custom Wedding Dress

Tagèle P.’s Custom Wedding Dress

Hi everyone, and welcome back to the JoSaBi blog! Super excited to have you back for another custom wedding dress adventure, and I hope you are having a stellar day!!!! Today, I would like to chat about our lovely Tagèle from Burkina Faso. She got married in May of 2019, and was a real vision in her ethereal tulle and lace A-line JoSaBi custom wedding dress (more info on wedding dress shapes here). It was such a pleasure working with her, and her bridal squad was the best ever. Let’s dive into her story! 😃

Tagèle: with her, everything was soft and subtle.

Custom Dress Design

Tagèle came to JoSaBi through our website. From the start, she was particular about the fact that she wanted an “almost ballgown”. I’ll be honest: the second I saw her inch towards a fuller skirt, I showed her the fullest and most lush of our creations, but she just did not feel like they were “her”.

She was finally able to explain that the volume of a ballgown was not her thing, but that she still loved to the softness and airiness of a tulle skirt. Moreover, she was neither interested in a long train, nor was she “in your face” sexy. She instead wanted her JoSaBi custom wedding dress to show just a bit of skin while remaining classy. We therefore ended going with slight décolletés in the front and back of her bodice. Her 3/4 sleeves showed a flash of skin as well, thanks to the nude-colored tulle the lace rested upon.

After we got to the “almost ballgown” concept, getting to an A-line shape for the skirt was pretty simple. For her custom wedding dress, Tagèle wanted soft tulle and also wanted to be able to move. We hence agreed on an airy and frothy skirt, with a modest 30 cm train.

For the lace on her bodice, she wanted a unique pattern and slightly shimmering accents. We chose a pretty lace that adorned with pearls and clear sequins. For a little bit of sass, we both agreed to add shine to the dress with a beaded pearl and crystal belt. The final touch was a fingertip length veil. We decorated it with a delicately beaded lace edge.

As you may see, with Tagèle, everything was soft and subtle. However, all these aspects came together to make a truly exquisite wedding dress. The details were small and precise, and they made all the difference. I appreciated the fact that she knew what she wanted, and that she was willing to ideate with me to create her perfect silhouette.

Creation

Tagèle ended up placing her order exactly 5 months before the wedding. She got several photos and videos during the process and was able to see how her dress was moving along. When the dress was completed, we sent her final videos and was approved the whole look before shipping.

She had her first fitting 2 weeks before the ceremony. She had lost some weight, but our alterations team in Burkina Faso had the dress ready to go within a few days.
